Reporting Absences

If your child is going to be absent, please call the Attendance Office at 858-566-0273 before 8:30 am.

If you find that your child must be absent for reasons other than medical, please notify the school as soon as possible to arrange a Contract for Independent Study. Your child will be given school work.

Parents and All Other Visitors

Parents are welcome to visit school at any time. We encourage such visits since the help build a mutual understanding of your child and the school’s instructional program. Classroom instruction should not be interrupted. All visitors must check in at the Front Office before proceeding on campus.

Before School:

1. Students should report to school no earlier than 7:20am. THERE IS NO SUPERVISION PROVIDED BEFORE THAT TIME.
2.Students should proceed to the lunch court and sit quietly at a table until dismissed to their assigned areas.
3.From 7:20-7:40am primary grade students will sit at assigned tables in the lunch court area and upper grade students will line up on the blacktop.
4.Students are not allowed to roam the halls or report to a classroom without a note from a staff member.
5.During inclement weather, students will be directed to the auditorium to sit quietly until the 7:40am bell.

After School/Dismissal:

1. Dismissal is at 2:05pm (11:50am on Thursdays). Students should walk quietly and directly to the exits. Parents/guardians should not loiter around classrooms waiting for students. You may wait by the Front Office, on the playground, at the lunch court or under the shade structure until the bell rings.
2.Please be prompt in picking up your child. They are not to play on the play structures. THERE IS NO SUPERVISION FOR STUDENTS AFTER DISMISSAL.
3.Students who ride the bus to and from school should report to the bus immediately and obey all bus rules.
4.Students walking home should walk with a buddy, walk directly home and cross only at lighted intersections.

Parking/Student Drop off and Pick Up

There are three parking lots available: one in front of the school, the dirt lot just past the front parking lot, and one off Westview Parkway next to Klassic Kids. Additionally, there is parking available along Westview Parkway.

When dropping off or picking up children, please use the back lot by Klassic Kids. There is only one driveway to the front of the school, therefore we experience a great deal of congestion in the lot which makes it frustrating for parents and dangerous for children. If you use the front lot, YOU MUST PARK IN AN AVAILABLE SPACE. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED. Cars double parked, cars parked by red or blue curbs or in handicapped spaces without necessary placards may be ticked and/or towed. We appreciate your cooperation.
