PTA MEMBERSHIP
The Hage Elementary PTA welcomes you to the 2011-2012 school year! Our membership drive has begun and we want to join together with you to create the best school year possible.
TheHage Elementary PTA is a volunteer group of parents, teachers, administrators, and concerned citizens that support enrichment programs for your children such as:
* Art Corps- our school-wide art instruction program taught in the classroom
* Field Trip Buses- transportation for classes to off-campus field trips
* Literacy Support- New materials for the school library
* Family Programs- Fall Festival, Movie Nights, Family Dance and other events that bring families together in our school community
* 3rd-5th grade Swimming Program- in conjunction with the PE Department and the Hage ASB we financially support our nationally recognized swimming program
* Workroom Copier- We assist in the photocopying costs to support students & teachers
* Teacher Reimbursements- per student stipend for classroom teachers for supplies, learning aids and materials directly used in teaching and instruction and much more!
Due to the state’s continued financial issues, Hage Elementary has received the third straight year of significant funding cuts which will affect every child and every classroom. Because of this, we encouraging every family to support the PTA by becoming a member.
Who Should Join the PTA? Both parents and extended family are strongly encouraged to join. Memberships are individual (not family). Show even more support by asking a grandparent, relative, friend, neighbor or employer to join to!
What is the membership money used for? Our membership dues are $11. $5.10 goes toward the local, state & national PTA. $5.90 goes to Hage PTA and is put in our general fund to help get our programs up and running. You also have the option to donate more money to help “jump start” our year.
Why should I become a member of the PTA? The most important reason is to support your child, their education and the total school experience. In addition to that, you’re also supporting the local, state and national PTA and the legislation they do on behalf of children and families. Now, more than ever, having a strong voice is vital to PTA’s efforts in advocating for children’s educational needs. The more members- the stronger the voice!
Do I have to attend meetings or take time off to volunteer? No! Although you are warmly invited to all PTA General Meetings, we understand that you are busy. Joining simply means you believe in and support the PTA’s goals and voice.
We warmly invite you to show your support to the Hage Elementary PTA and join today. The membership form is at the link below. The two classes with the highest % of membership turned in by September 31st wins a treat party. Hand in hand, together we can make a difference!
Warmly,
Christine Marsolini, 2011-2012 PTA President
Amy Goldstein, 2011-2012 PTA Membership Chair
